The Artful Deceiver

She wears two faces but only one does she show to the world for she keeps her secrets safe, close and her goals are, ultimate power and control.

She plays the saint beautifully, forever helpful, without complaint, human. The victim she plays with nuance ripe, tragic. She can manufacture hurt, pain, loss and tears upon command, winning hearts she can manipulate and turn around. Quite often what we see and witness are not real emotions but an anger she cannot control against those who see her clearly and refuse to play her games.

The followers, the sheep that trot along behind with their hearts open and bleeding for the supposed injustice and cruelty their leader portrays, blindly rise to her defense. Their rational minds are lost. They get tangled in a web so fine, like the spider to the fly and they are truly lost. Gone perhaps forever.

They become a group of militants with a just cause and a need to fight and destroy. They become someone they never wanted or thought they could be, just puppets on a string who dance upon command … deftly played by a mastermind  … with no shame.

Does anyone ever win? Do you remember the goal? Ultimate power and control. The little general pulling the strings of “lost souls.”
