The Stalker

Stalked

She walked always with shadows, searching crowds for a certain face, size, shape. Holding herself ready for confrontations … at any time in any place. She never relaxed … she never felt Safe. She drove fast, checking the road ahead, the streets behind,  the side roads converging, expecting to  see a little black car with a lone grey haired driver … slipping in behind her. Her home was no longer a haven. The outer doors not always secured.   Automatically as she crossed the threshold …  she turned and locked and double locked and all the while it played upon her nerves … that those Locks had become “her world.”  She was always aware of the possibility of danger and there was no peace to be found. She felt … alone … abused … afraid.  Nobody knew when  or even if the Stalker would change his stalking and make his move … or just what the move might be, for he was lost in his own … “World of Fantasy.”

His car patrolled her work, her home, her family and friends.  The phone invaded her Privacy.  The Buzzer shattered the “Darkness of the Night”  bringing her awake to helplessness and despair.  He was always there … he was everywhere.  He knew when her blinds were open … when shut, who came to visit and when they went out, which lights were on in which rooms at what time.  He knew more about her life … than I knew about mine.

What did he want … when would he stop … what would he do?  The scary part was that nobody knew … least of all him, for he was “confused.” From Heaven to Hell , from Freedom to trapped, she could not go forward … she would never go back.  Finally she acknowledged,  “She needed help.” In humility she asked … “to have her Life back!” On the outside looking in,it is hard to tell where the Love stopped and the Nightmare began.  We have no right to judge or criticize or condemn, for we have not walked … where the Stalked have been.  So if you are out there, alone with your thoughts, afraid of the sunshine, afraid of the dark… find the Courage to … “Right this Wrong.”…Be Strong!  Reach out your hand and pick up the phone. Someone will answer … Someone will hear. We know that the dangers are real.  We know the Pain … Confusion … Fear. You are not alone  “Help is Near.” Stand up and Fight for your :

Right to choose a Life of your own.”
