The Rhythm of the Wind
Wind bent the top of the grasses. It lifted the corners of my jacket. It tugged my hair and was fresh upon my face. The sun…melted into the day. Peace claimed me.
Dogs barked, squirrels scampered, children ran and parents watched. The wind whirled.
I walked on, under giant trees with branches high. The leaves rustled and the wind danced. Seagulls rose, on powerful wings and floated among the currents of the wind, playing…rising high and falling swiftly. I walked towards the lake and the sun shone on.
Nature’s natural music of water, waves and wind…it was like the crash of cymbals in a symphony and it equalled perfect harmony. Natural beauty was displayed before my eyes.
The wind was stronger now as it skimmed and whipped across the surface of the lake. It created waves, sun-kissed like diamonds sparkling…sprinkled randomly among each crest. They were pushed recklessly towards the rocky shore by the relentless wind who had control…crashing like thunder upon the stationary shore. The lake roared!
The waves once united with the rock wall…raced like a horizontal waterfall across the top and spewed foaming water high into the sun-drenched sky. Wave upon endless wave pounded and crashed against the shore…orchestrated to the rhythm of the wind,
beautiful … powerful … hypnotic.
Entranced, at peace, humbled, happy, I walked on keeping the lake in sight… holding me in place against a world…not always calm.
